Baghdad and other cities across Iraq witnessed massive anti-corruption rallies on Friday.
The crowd at the rallies this week were much larger than the weeks before, Al Iraqiya TV reported. The demonstration is very well organized and the participation of women is very significant, the reported added.
Razzaq Abed, a social activist from Diwaniya in the south said to al-Baghdadiya TV in today’s rally: “Like Baghdad and other provinces, we will continue our demonstrations until all our demands are met, even if they kill or imprison us, we will remain in the ‘maydan’ (squares)… and our demands must be implemented… we will continue and will not back down until our demands our met… we will be restless… [Judiciary chief] Mid’hat Mahmoud is the source of all the problems and calamities; he himself is both the judge and the enemy…”
