Iraqi sources in Ramadi of al-Anbar Province reported the first combat brigade of tribal forces against ISIS presence in their areas has been formed, Al Arabiya.net reported on Tuesday, September 8th.
The organizers of this brigade called on senior Iraqi government and local officials to provide logistical and moral support for their plans.
“This brigade consists of 1,100 fighters from various tribes in the al-Baghdadi region of al-Anbar,” said Brigadier General Hamd Abdulrazzaq al-Duleimi, commander of this new unit. He went on to emphasize that all members of this brigade had previously fought against ISIS and al-Qaeda.
