Radio France cited the statement issued by Reporters Without Borders calling for an international campaign against suppression of journalists in Iran.

The statement expressed concern regarding condition of detained journalists in Iran, and declared Iran under the rule of the mullahs is still the biggest prison for the journalists in the Middle East.

The statement also said: detained reporters are kept in hard conditions in solitary cells… During recent years the suppression of journalists and the press has increased dramatically and today more than any other time, and international campaign in support of Iranian journalists is necessary.
