I knew that Dr. Mirzaii is not his real name

The Swiss daily Tribune de Geneve published an article on May 14, 2009 by Mostafa Naderi who had spent 12 years in the Iranian regime’s prisons for his support of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI). In this article, Naderi revealed details of tortures and execution of the political prisoners carried out by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
The article titled as ’I knew that Dr. Mirzaii is not his real name’ reads:
’It was 1981. I was a prisoner at ward 4 of Evin Prison. I was 19. He was a jailor. He had named himself Dr. Mirzaii, but I knew it was not his real name. All torturers used a pseudonym. It was a fun for us to discover the real names of the jailors and say it to the others hoping to get out some day from that hell and reveal it. Many of the prisoners never got out. In those horrible years of 80s, hundreds of prisoners, mostly very young, were executed every night.
I was arrested just because of selling the PMOI publication. For that they imprisoned me for 12 years in Evin and Qezel Hessar Prisons including five and half years in solitary confinement cell. One day my cell mate Mehdi Vosooqian, a student of Polytechnic University of Technology, told me after coming from a round of undergoing interrogation and torture that the real name of Dr. Mirzaii is Ahmadinejad. By that time, this name meant nothing to me, neither, for Mehdi. He made a big risk to tell me the real name of a torturer. Mehdi Vosooqian was executed in 1988 massacre of the political prisoners.
In order to test the loyalty of a revolutionary guard and even a minister or a parliament member before their promotion, they have to shoot Coup de grace at the political prisoners. Those who did not agree to do that were not reliable. But, Ahmadinejad was quite reliable because they had named him ’man of one thousand shots’.
When I got released several prisoners who had directly dealt with Ahmadinejad confirmed his identity. I came to Geneva to reach my voice to the others. There are at least ten former political prisoners ready to testify before an international tribunal where I hope he and other leaders of this religious dictatorship would be tried for crime against humanity. ’
