In an interview with Asharq Al-Awsat daily, US Ambassador to Iraq Christopher Hill said if there is anyone who believes we have delivered Iraq to the Iranian regime they are undoubtedly wrong. Hill added if you take into consideration the opinion polls in Iraq you will see the Iranian regime’s meddling widely rejected in this country.

Answering a question regarding the possibility of the Iranian regime using Iraq as a means to break the international siege, Ambassador Hill said: I don’t think so. Rather, I believe that Iraq, being a member nation of the United Nations, has obligations regarding international sanctions.
