15 Houthi militants were killed in airstrikes launched by Arab coalition warplanes on Houthi positions in Shabwah Province, Al Jazeera TV reported on Thursday, August 27th. Furthermore, heavy clashes also erupted between popular resistance forces and Houthi militants backed by troops loyal to ousted dictator Ali Abdullah Salah in Ta’izz, leaving 23 Houthis killed and 34 others injured.
Four members of the popular resistance forces lost their lives while 19 others were injured.
During the span of a few hours a number of civilians were also killed and injured as Houthi militants indiscriminately shelled residential areas in Ta’izz, Al Jazeera added.
