Washington Post wrote French deal With U.A.E. Seen as Warning to Iran and continued French officials said the U.A.E. military base, coupled with an agreement to help the Emirates build two nuclear reactors for energy production, is intended in part to warn Iran against taking aggressive steps toward any of its neighbors.

The International Herald Tribune also wrote that Military analysts and officials said that the new base was an important symbolic step that signaled that Paris wanted to play a greater role in the future. And as a French official said “Being right opposite to Iran is a clear strategic choice”…

On the other hand the state run Iranian daily ‘Jumhouri’ on its editorial titled “Arab states shouldn’t trust France” while insulting French President wrote Pres. Sarkozy is traveling in Arab kingdoms and tries to gain more of floating oil dollars of Arab kingdoms by haggling. The Arab states must take as an example the unsuccessful Iran-France joint ventures… and they must not trust France.
