Syria National Provisional Government Defense Minister, Gen. Salim Idris announced he has started the formation of Syria National Army involving 61 thousand fighters. All Syrian revolutionary forces will participate in this army which acts according to the international laws and covenants. He sent a message to all military and revolutionary forces saying all those who believe in a country called Syria and want to free their country of destruction and massacre and the current catastrophic situation can join this army and act under one banner. Gen. Idris added that this message is to form and establish a new classical army consisting of all dedicated fighting forces which are willing and ready to operate under a common defense ministry.       
Gen. Idris said: “I work in close consultation and coordination with all those who join this army, and the commanding hierarchy shall be chosen of those who have the qualification and proficiency needed to lead the forces”.
Gen. Salim Idris added: “we accept all fighting groups and battalions, who are active in north and south fronts in Syria, but we want to concentrate on one subject, which is the overthrow of the Assad regim. We shall coordinate with all our fighter brothers in all fronts and with all who we should have connections so to guarantee the success of this plan”.
