Foreign Ministry summons Iranian chargé d’affaires

Manama, May 17 (BNA): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned this morning the Iranian Chargé d’Affaires, Mohammad Reza Babaei to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah stressed during the meeting the rejection of the recent statements of the … Khamenei, affirming that these statements are not only unacceptable but are also a blatant interference in the internal affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Undersecretary added that such statements disregard the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and international laws that emphasize respect for the sovereignty of all countries and the principles of independence.
MoFA Undersecretary reiterated the need to immediately stop such irresponsible remarks and that Iran must respect the sovereignty of other countries and focus on the issues of the Iranian people and Iranian affairs.
The Undersecretary added that the Kingdom of Bahrain is committed to good-neighborly relations and non-interference in the affairs of others.
He also said that Bahrain is always keen to develop positive relations and constructive cooperation with all countries of the world, affirming that the Kingdom will not accept any interference in its internal affairs.
The Undersecretary stressed the need to urgently convey this protest to the Iranians officials.
On Saturday, mullahs’ supreme leader Khamenei said “the people of Yemen, Bahrain and Palestine are oppressed and Iran will support them with all its strength.”.
