Families of political prisoners protest against Maliki in Baghdad

Based on a report aired by Baghdad TV, families of political prisoners jailed by Maliki’s government gathered in the country’s capital protesting such measures by the security apparatus.
During this demonstration which took place outside the Ministry of Human Rights, the families of the prisoners demanded an end to the executions carried out by Maliki’s henchmen.
“Every day they arrest another person and kill him,” a victim’s mother said. “Which judge issues such verdicts? They say bring money for the judge and the officer(!) for us not to carry out the execution. Where are we to bring the dollars from? Where are we supposed to bring five thousand or six thousand dollars from? We have sold all of our belongings but we haven’t been able to raise such money. They broke my child’s nose, they crushed his back.”
