
The European Commission is to announce its plans on how it would deal with migrants in the journey across the Mediterranean. European politicians have to weigh up humanitarian concerns with the political-economic and security issues. And this Wednesday the European Commission is going to announce its plans. The proposals are expected to include a quota for the number of migrants to be taken in by all member nations. So far this year about 64,000 people have thought to have attempted the crossing, more than 1,800 are estimated to have died.
