
According to preliminary results of Turkey’s presidential elections held on Sunday, Turkey Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan gained around 52% of the votes in the first round of the Turkey presidential elections. His two rivals were Akmaladin Ehsan Oqlu and Salahadin Demirtash gained 36.5% and around 9% of the votes, respectively.
This is the first time the Turkish people directly elect their president.
