Egypt halts wheat import negotiation from Iran

The Egyptian government has stopped purchase of wheat from Iran. The Sawt al-Umma Weekly, published in Cairo, wrote that the Egyptian leaders had decided to halt ongoing negotiations for purchase of 200,000 tons of wheat from Iran. This decision was due to concerns of the US protest against dealing with the Iranian regime.

The Egyptian Trade Ministry had informed a while ago of negotiation with Iran for purchase of wheat. Egypt is the leading importer of wheat in the world.
