In an interview with Al-Arabia T.V. former Iraqi Primer Dr. Ayad Allawi said “the Iranian regime was frightened by what happened in Iraq. They were afraid of the US position and hence started direct negotiations with the United States in Iraq without the presence of the Arab League or Arab Cooperation Council or United Nation. We reject any intervention in Iraq’s internal affairs and we do not want any side, who ever it is, to meddle in Iraq.”
He added, “The US negotiation with Iran in presence of Iraqi government in Iraq causes problems. In addition when the US forces announce they have found Iranian made weapons, and clashes take place between them and armed militias, we do not receive any answer from Iran…”
