The Awakening Council of the Diyala province and the peoples’ committees of the province which cover the majority of Diyala people, in separate statements asked for punishment of the clerical regime for the war aggression against the Ashraf city.

Parts of the statements read: We condemn the timorous missile launching against Ashraf by the mullahs’ regime. This criminal measure is the best indication of blackguardism of this regime and its affiliates in the clean and sanctified land of Iraq.

We also ask the Iraqi government to expel the Iranian regime’s ambassador from Iraq for his continuous meddling in Iraq’s internal affairs.
