The PMOI revealed details on the terrorist attack that resulted in martyrdom of friends of Ashraf, Sheikh Fayez Lafta of Olyawi of the Obeidi tribe, Sheikh Hussein Dheyab Ibrahim al-Obeidi, Sheikh Hussein Ahmad Mohammad al-Obeidi and Dr. Hatam Khazaal al-Obeidi.

At 1800 hours on Friday November 9, 2007 Sheikh Fayez Lafta and his companions were standing in front of sheikh Fayez’s house located near Dujma village, north of Khalis in Diyala. At the time of incident the electricity was cut off. They saw a person approaching the sheikh who was stopped by the guard of Sheikh’s house. But Sheikh asked him what he need and let him come closer. He was a 14 year old teenager by the name of Abdul Rahman. He explained to have been carrying a message from Salahadin reconciliation council for Sheikh Fayez… after Sheikh asked him to come closer and as soon as he reached the Sheikh Hussein Dheyab, the explosion occurred. Further investigations showed the boy had been dressed explosive belt with about 18 Kg high explosives.

Apparently the explosive was detonated by another person using a remote control device from distance allowing the terrorists to escape.

A day before, two boys who were playing with two artillery shells near the Sheikh’s house were seen by locals. One of them was killed as the result of explosion and the other was injured. It seems to be another attempt against Sheikh’s life.

It is worth mentioning that since last Friday (Nov. 9) Nai and Zargania villages close to the Dujma region had been under mortar attack by armed militias affiliated to the terrorist Qods force of IRGC.
