Declaration of the Association of Independent Iraqi Jurists signed by more than 500 Iraqi jurists announced: “A nationalist government headed by Dr. Ayad Allawi is the only way out of the present Iraqi critical condition.”

The declaration that was reported by the Iraqi News Agency partly reads: “The signatories who are from different Iraqi provinces, while presenting evidences of the Maliki’s negative record and emphasizing on incapability of governmental organs, destruction of civil service, emergence of administrative corruption and rising unemployment among the people’s various stratums, reminded: ” These sectarian and prejudiced political and social methods have left no cause for staying this government in power. Presently this government’s officials frequently make egregious mistakes in their decisions. ”

The jurists concluded: “We, the independent jurists, believe that national plan of Dr. Ayad Allawi, head of the Iraqi National List, is the best alternative against the sectarian and racist policies of this government, a decisive response to the Iranian regime’s meddling, and a hope for salvation of Iraq from civil war disaster and religious killings.”
