Vice President Dick Cheney on Monday said Iran was developing a uranium enrichment program for military purposes, French news agency (AFP) reported on Mar. 24.

“Obviously, they’re … heavily involved in trying to develop nuclear weapons enrichment, the enrichment of uranium to weapons grade levels,” Cheney said in an interview with ABC television transcribed by the White House.

Also on Monday the Vice President hit out at Iran because of undermining the Middle East peace process. Iran and Syria “are doing everything they can to torpedo the peace process,” Cheney told reporters in Jerusalem before heading to Turkey.
