Al-Seyassah daily (Kuwait), 15 Dec 2012 – Senior Iraqi political sources affiliated to anti-Iran movements in the Iraqi government expressed their anger and abhorrence over the government overlooking the transfer of large amounts of chemical substances prepared for chemical weapons from the Islamic republic of Iran to the Assad regime.
These sources informed Al-Seyassah on Friday recently with the war in Syria intensifying, the transfer of weapons, ammunition, military equipment and prepared chemical substances to make chemical weapons transferred from Iran to Syria – either via flights through Iraqi airspace from Tehran to Damascus or by large trucks through ground routes, have escalated significantly.
They reiterated in this phase the Assad regime intends to increase and stock a large amount of chemical weapons to use them when it feels it has nothing to lose, even if it means losing the support it continues to receive from its very few ‘friends’ from across the globe, including Russia and China.
