25 representatives from the Parliamentarian assembly of the Council of Europe from 10 countries, in a statement titled ” The Presence of Iran’s Parliament speaker in the Council of Europe” condemned the invitation of Haddad Adel to the Council and called the representatives of the CE and the officials and employees of this council to leave the session in case of Haddad Adel’s attendance.

This statement which is registered in the Parliamentarian Assembly reads:
– Considering that he is an official in an extremist Islamic regime that has ridiculed all democratic laws mentioned in the Council of Europe,
– By strong emphasis that any dialogue among civilizations or beliefs needs respecting the fundamental principles, and therefore such relations and dialogues, even indirect, are not allowed with the representatives of the Iranian regime.
– Reminding that the Iranian regime has called for destruction of Israel-a member of United Nations and one of the supervisors of the CE, has rejected the Holocaust, and has separated itself from the civilized world,
– With reference to the efforts of the Iranian regime and its allies like Syria to attain military nuclear capability that is a serious threat for the world peace,

We the signatories of this statement, call the representatives of the CE and the officials and employees of the council to leave the session in case of Haddad Adel’s attendance.

We also ask the representatives of the governments and the press to condemn Haddad Adel’s presence, so that the credibility of the Council of Europe could be preserved.
