“Death to Dictator” shouted protesting students in Tehran against Ahmadinejad

Iranian students opposing the mullahs’ rule protested at Teheran University on Monday. The protest started as Iranian regime’s president Ahmadinejad showed up at the university.

Students welcomed Ahmadinejad by slogans such as : “death to the dictator”, ”Detained students should be released”., ” Fascist President! There is no room for you in the university, we don’t want fascist government.”

Ahmadinejad was due to deliver a speech at the university to mark the start of the academic year. Students and academics have criticized the regime for clamping down on dissent on Iranian campuses.

According to the reports received from inside sources, Iranian students protesting against Ahmadinejad clashed with security forces. In these clashes a number of students were injured.

The state-run Fars News Agency reported “today at noon students protesting Ahmadinejad’s presence” in Tehran University “clashed” with security forces.

“Why only Columbia? We have questions too,” read banners held by the students at Tehran University. They were referring to Ahmadinejad’s speech at the Columbia University last month where he was addressed as a “dictator” and faced with widespread protests.

Last December, Iranian students disrupted a speech by Ahmadinejad at Tehran’s Amir Kabir university, setting fire to his pictures and shouting “death to the dictator””

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President -elect of the Iranian resistance, saluted the brave students who staged their protest in Tehran University to express their hatred of Ahmadinejad, and called their angry slogans an expression of urgent demand of the Iranian people for the overthrow of the mullahs’ regime.
