Sawt al-Iraq website, 1 Jan 2013 – A senior official in the Iraqi government revealed Baghdad has informed Iran it will not block planes using Iraqi airspace heading to Syria, adding they will not be inspected.
This source said the Iraqi government has informed Tehran it is permitted to transfer whatever it wishes, from food, medicine, equipment and others instead of weapons, because the Iraqi government is obligated to the international community and is not ready to breach it.
Baghdad does not believe in providing weapons for either party of the Syria conflict because a peaceful solution is the best key to end this crisis, the source added.
