Former Iraqi premier Ayad Allawi condemned the elimination of al-Wataniya Coalition candidates from the upcoming general elections under bogus pretexts.
“This is taking place while murderers, thieves and terrorists are being exempted,” he said.
“I praise those who have been eliminated from the elections through bogus methods and pretexts while they had no crime other than crying out against corruption, dictatorship and sectarianism. We announce our opposition to assassinating and eliminating candidates of those amongst our ranks. Their elimination is taking place while those whose hands are drenched in the people’s blood are being exempted,” Allawi added.
“We are determined to bring about real change,” he stipulated.
