Former Iraqi premier Dr. Ayad Allawi said a third term for Maliki as prime minister will not be accepted, al-Tagheer TV reported. Head of the al-Wataniya Coalition held a meeting with senior members to review the elections developments.
Al-Tagheer TV said voters north of the city of Babel threw a Maliki-slate candidate who was advertising for himself out of a polling station.
Iraqi Parliament Speaker Osama al-Nujaifi said security forces in Baghdad’s Ghazaliya district did not allow people reach the polling stations.
Al-Tagheer TV added in the al-Zeitun district of Abu Ghareib Maliki’s security forces also took measures preventing people from reaching the polls.
