The leading al-Quds al-Arabi daily wrote in its editorial, “Despite the fact that all Maliki dissidents are in consensus, he defends his right to remain in power – in order to be a full dictator – and according to this daily Maliki’s tenure is over and nothing will remain of him in history other than the fact that he sold his country’s independence to Iran, destroyed the nation and annihilated the democracy project in Iraq.”
