
The European Union has sanctioned 13 other officials and 2 companies in relation to the Ukraine crisis. A number of these individuals had roles in separating and annexing the Crimea Peninsula to the Russian Federation.
Russian President Vladimir Putin’s deputy chief of staff, commander of the air riflemen, head of the Russian Constitution Committee and caretaker of the Crimea Immigrants Federal Services Department are amongst the officials recently sanctioned.
A number of officials have been sanctioned in relations to the events in eastern Ukraine, including the self-proclaimed mayor of Slavyansk, the Russia-linked militant chief in Donetsk and head of the elections commission in the self-proclaimed Donetsk Republic.
The two companies sanctioned are those taken over and confiscated by pro-Russian militant separatists.
