Ahmad Ismaeel Vand, the new deputy of the Tehran governor, said 12 percent of the country’s populartion is in Tehran Province and 10 percent of the country is living in the city of Tehran.
“During the past few years we have witnessed an increasing number of prisoners. Unfortunately, during this period the number of prisoners under the age of 20 have seen a 20% increase,” he said.
Iranian MP Hossein Tala admitted Tehran’s administrative structure is not adequate. Tehran has a divided and disrupted structure because Tehran is a city that is no longer defined as a city and province, all its activities are disrupted and it lacks any adequate administrative structure, he added.
