
Peyamner News Agency, 20 Nov 2012 – Thirteen soldiers were killed and a number of others injured following an attack by unknown men against the Iraqi Army taking place on Monday afternoon in Tikrit.
Based on incoming reports, this attack took place between the Rashad district and city of Tikrit in the Khalifa region where a car bomb targeted a column of the 36th Brigade of the Iraqi Army’s 9th Division. Based on initial reports 13 were killed a number of others wounded.
“Five bombs were placed in the path of the Iraqi Army column, of which four were defused,” Kirkuk deputy governor Dr. Amin Aziz said.
Reports indicate a number of armored vehicles were severely damaged in this attack and US fighter jets immediately were present at the scene.
As of yet no party has assumed responsibility of this attack.
