The Iraqi Islamic Unity Party, in a statement, called the missile attack on Ashraf City a criminal aggression and strongly condemned it.

Part of the Statement reads: The criminal measure which took place against Ashraf city in Diyala province by the Islamic Republic is nothing but violation of sovereignty of us, Iraqis, and cowardly targeting our guests and brothers, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI); those who have no crime but endeavors for establishment of democracy, justice and freedom based of the Islamic principles; this aggression is a dangerous measure and a heinous behavior against the supreme teachings of the real Islam, this is a failed attempt.
