Iraqi MP Fattah al-Sheikh described the Spanish National Court writ summoning Prime Minister Nouri Maliki along with three military commanders behind the recent attack on Ashraf as the natural result of human rights violations by the government.
“Attack on Ashraf will be a breach of law, breaking the back of Maliki’s government,” al-Sheikh said in a press release. “Today, three senior military commanders have been summoned to a Spanish court and tomorrow Maliki will join them once his premiership is over.”
The Iraqi MP stressed on the “legal resolve of the Ashraf case because any opposition to international laws on this issue will have dangerous consequences.”
