Asharq daily (Saudi Arabia) 28 September 2015:
The Iranian opposition issued a statement saying American-Iranian organizations will stage a rally in New York protesting the presence of Hassan Rouhani, the Iranian regime’s president in the United Nations General Assembly.
This statement reminds that the Organization Iranian American Communities are protesting the deteriorating human rights situation in Iran and the waves of recent executions under Rouhani’s tenure, reaching over 2,000 executions to this day.
This demonstration is held to express deep concerns about reports recently published by the UN Secretary-General and UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran detailing widespread human rights violations under Rouhani’s tenure. Rouhani is attempting to depict himself as a moderate reformer that can be trusted by the international and especially the United States.
However, American dignitaries and Members of Congress are warning about the consequences of neglecting human rights violations in Iran.
