In n interview with INTV, Sheikh Muhammad Dawoud Bassiri, a prominent scholar and religious personality opposing the clerical regime in Basra, called the Solidarity Congress of the Iraqi People an auspicious gathering that expresses will of a great portion of the southern Iraqi people and said: Those who have propounded expulsion of the PMOI are the Iranian regime’s lobby in the Iraqi Parliament and their efforts are more in favor of the Iranian regime rather than in favor of Iraqi people.
