A number of political prisoners in the clerical dungeons released a statement and supported the Haft-Tappeh Sugar Cane Factory workers in Khuzastan and their demands.

Part of the statement reads: We, a number of Iranian political prisoners declare our support of the painstaking and oppressed workers and stress that the rights of workers and other sectors or Iranian society can only be obtained through democracy; we are confident that in the absence of freedom, justice and equality there is no hope for implementation of their just demands and observance of human rights.
