PMOI: fast step towards objective

After 15 years (1997-2012) of slander and refusing to accept the truth, the US State Department corrected its wrong path regarding the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, the opposition of the cruel mullahs’ regime in Iran. US government’s had the knowledge that this is not a terrorist organization and has never attacked any country in the world, and on the contrary has only struggled against the cruel and aggressive regime in Iran. Washington also knew that prior to all this the PMOI had participated in the 1979 anti-monarchy revolution alongside these mullahs; however, since the mullahs’ regime doesn’t recognize any other party and appointed the posts only to its own kind, it eliminated the PMOI from the ruling government only because they opposed the mullahs’ method of ‘velayat faqih’ rule. For this sole reason Khomeini labeled this organization the ‘monafeqin’ [the regime’s derogatory term to describe the PMOI], similar to Shah’s method of naming them as a “Marxist Islamic” group. Furthermore, the clerical regime has either murdered or house arrested until their death all ayatollahs who participated alongside the PMOI in their opposition to the Shah.
The US State Department decision was not a favor from its part or for understanding the truth. In fact, it was achieved through popular pressure symbolized in members of the US Congress, European Parliament and the assemblies of various countries across the globe, human rights organizations, writers, journalists, intellectuals and academicians. This decision was also not achieved without the long legal efforts of the PMOI in US and British courts. The result was 18 rulings in favor of the PMOI.
Following the US decision to remove the PMOI from the terrorist list, it is the right of this organization to carry out peaceful measures with all their assets available to expose the mullahs’ regime and instigate global public pressure against them because this regime is definitely, with obvious proof available, a terrorist regime.
1. The mullahs’ regime, by boasting and expressing honor for its spying and terrorist role in neighboring countries, it has revealed itself with its own hands. Yemen’s President Abed Raboo Mansour Hadi announced this in New York at the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, saying Iran supports spying networks in his country. And this is the sixth network that is following orders from Iran. In addition to this, Tehran is supporting the Hawthis to rise against the ruling government in Yemen, and support the southern movement in seeking separation from northern Yemen.
2. The Lebanese Hezbollah announcing the dispatching of a drone to Israeli airspace. This craft was built by Iran and assembled by Hezbollah. Considering the fact that Hezbollah implements Iran’s agenda and aims at creating havoc in the region, and by starting a disparate war, it is bypassing involved governments from the developments taking place in Syria. This means placing its efforts to save the Assad regime that is literally engulfed in the blood of the Syrian people.
3. Iran and its affiliated party in Lebanon do not cloak their support for the Assad regime, a regime that by claiming to fight against terrorist groups has destroyed all of Syria with its bomber planes, artillery and missiles. This is while these factions mainly consist of soldiers and officers trained in the ranks of the Syrian Army. However, if the claimed groups have entered the country, it is because the Assad regime has opened the borders by imposing armed violence against the people.
4. The rulers of Tehran and its affiliated Hezbollah confess to their role in supporting the Assad regime under the pretext that this regime is resistant. The role of the Quds Force units has become very significant under the command of Ghassem Suleimani, whose terrorist role is known across the globe. He is a person who is attempting to become a candidate in Iran’s upcoming presidential elections next year. Therefore, Iran’s president will precisely become a terrorist.
5. Iran’s role in supporting Assad in hunting down the Syrian opposition with electronic equipment through the Internet, meaning the field of the Internet and chat rooms to identify dissidents, has been revealed. These are preparations to find them and kill them through its intelligence agents.
6. However, Iran’s role in Iraq is a disturbing odor. Here is a direct and ugly sectarian role. Maliki’s government carries out what the mullahs’ demand in terrorism through their envoy Danai’i Far and Ghassem Suleimani.
7. Iran’s internal situation has been critical for years, and there is a serious dispute between Khamenei and Ahmadinejad. Both parties claim they are sacred and are in contact with the ‘Hidden Imam’ (based on Shiite Islam beliefs), claiming they receive their orders directly from him.
8. However, the situation inside Iran has deteriorated following the fall of the country’s currency during the past weeks because the rial has lost more than half of its value, leading to Iranians rushing to convert their money into US dollars. Merchants are now using dollars in their trade inside and outside the country. Demonstrations in Tehran and various other major cities in Iran were not all just related to the falling value of the rial. In fact, they were acts of protests against the policies of the mullahs’ regime against the Iranian people, and especially the opposition. Iranian officials executed 12 dissidents last week, and dozens more are on death row.
These internal and external conditions, in addition to the consequences of EU and US economic sanctions based on Iran’s refusal to abide by the nuclear dossier issue, open the path before the Iranian opposition with the PMOI leading them all, to continue their political and propaganda struggle against a regime that is now globally and regionally isolated. Mechanisms abroad, using the decision to delist the PMOI, must be used to reach important peaks inside Iran, meaning for all ethnic minorities suffering from the mullahs’ repression, and residents of Ahwaz, Baluchestan, the Kurds, and cooperation with all youths who seek a free future where the necessities of a new era are provided for.
