On thirty ninth day of Iranians and Ashraf residents families’ sit-in outside the UN headquarters in New York, Fereidun Jourak, the Iranian director and filmmaker delivered speech and admired the role of Ashraf as a firm obstacle in confrontation against fundamentalism and said: “Based on the Fourth Geneva Convention, the coalition forces are responsible for Ashraf protection as long as they are present in Iraq, thus, these sit-ins, either in New York or Geneva, will be continued with the objective of guaranteeing Ashraf residents’ protection and acquiring the legal rights and until the relevant international authorities give us legal response.
Mr. Daniel McCohen, progressive lawyer and Reverend Roland were the next speakers who both emphasized the necessity of Ashraf protection guarantee.
Also, the messages of support of the Iranian societies in U.S. and Canada were read.
