Khamenei’s missile-muscle-flexing is to cloak his eroded status caused by the nuclear deal and the election outcome

Nuri Industries and Movahed Industries are major centers of building nuclear warhead capable missiles

Iranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei whose position has been severely damaged by the nuclear deal and last month’s sham elections desperately tries to prop up his lost status through missile-muscle-flexing. Speaking on this matter he said today: “Today is the time for missile and for diplomacy both”. The missiles Khamenei is talking about are the nuclear-warhead-capable-missiles that were tested last month.
Drawing on this muscle-flexing, Khamenei attacked his rivals in an unprecedented fashion: “Those who say the future is in negotiations, not in missiles, are either ignorant or traitors”.
These remarks demonstrate that Khamenei is mustering all his power to continue with the nuclear and missile projects in breach of UN Security Council resolution and that diplomacy and talks are merely a cover to advance these projects. He is also attempting to cloak regime’s internal crises while getting the upper hand in the infighting within the regime.
This is despite the fact that Rouhani is completely in line with Khamenei in these anti-Iranian projects. Seventy days prior to the recent missile test on 31 December 2015, Rouhani wrote in a directive to the defense minister: “The program to produce all types of missiles needed by the armed forces should continue with seriousness and speed.” He went on to add that the regime has never “negotiated on its missile program with anyone and shall not accept any restrictions in this realm”. He has also stated that in the two years of his presidency, regime’s weaponry has grown by 80% with respect to a decade ago. This means that on the average and without taking into account the inflation, expenditures on weaponry have grown fivefold.
On 5 January 2016, regime’s Speaker of Parliament Ali Larijani who was visiting an IRGC missile base emphasized on “the added support of the parliament for missile funds in the Sixth 5-year-budget”.
According to the information obtained by the Resistance from inside the regime, the overwhelming amount of Iranian people’s funds released to the religious fascism ruling Iran in the past two and a half year and since the beginning of the nuclear talks and after the nuclear deal has been spent on weapons’ projects, regional warmongering, and purchase of arms for the Bashar Assad’s army.
The two companies, Nuri Industries and Movahed Industries that were blacklisted by the U.S. Treasury on 24 March 2016 are affiliated with the Shahid Hemmat Industrial Group (SHIG) and are involved in building ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads.
Nuri Industries with code 8500 is where nuclear warheads are produced. Its president is engineer Naimi who works along with Dr. Mehdi Naqian Fesharaki in the design of nuclear warheads. The man in charge of research is engineer Aram. North Korean experts are present in this project and they have greatly contributed to the advance of this project. The Iranian Resistance disclosed Nuri Industries on 20 February 2008 in a press conference in Brussels.
Movahed Industries with code 7500 is the place where the body of Shahab-3 and Qadr missiles are built and the missiles are put together. It is located in the biggest tunnel of the Khojair Complex in the central section of Khojair Complex and Barjamali Mountain. This tunnel is over one kilometer long and 12 meters in diameter and branches out to six tunnels of 500 meters each. Within the tunnels there are various facilities and workshops that put together the missiles while other sections are used to store the missiles. The Iranian Resistance exposed Movahed Industries on 21 November 2005.
Yesterday, in a letter to the UN Secretary-General, the United States, France, Britain and Germany considered Iranian regime’s missile tests as in breach of Security Council resolutions and called for a Security Council session to take up the matter.
