Calls for definite cancelation of Rouhani visit to Austria
The Iranian Resistance welcomes the postponement of the visit by Iranian regime’s criminal President Rouhani to Austria and calls on the Austrian President, Chancellor and government to permanently cancel this visit. This visit would only fuel the machine of torture and execution in Iran and the export of terrorism and warmongering in the region by this antihuman regime further encouraging this regime to breach all universal human rights and democratic principles.
For whatever reason Rouhani may have postponed his visit, be it internal rivalries, concern for growing revulsion of the public opinion for the barbaric violation of human rights in Iran, or remarks made by Austrian leaders regarding the preconditions for the annulment of the sanctions, it nonetheless indicates the impasse of the clerical regime and its president that despite the nuclear accord and imperative economic and political drives it lacks the capacity to take the least steps towards normalizing relations with the international community.
This is coherent with the general strategy of this regime that Khamenei outlined in detail on March 20 on the occasion of the Iranian New Year. Among other things, Khamenei stated that the West and the United States want the Iranian regime “to forgo its support for the resistance in the region. Not to politically support the oppressed in the region such as the peoples of Gaza, Yemen and Bahrain”. “You see the hullabaloo in the world regarding the missiles. Why does the Islamic Republic have missile? Why does it have long range missile…? Why the Quds Force has been formed? Why we established the revolutionary guards?” he added.
Rouhani’s record in the past two and a half years as President is consistent with Khamenei’s speech. His record includes 2300 executions that Rouhani has described as “divinely ordained” or “legislation of a parliament that belongs to the people”. The unprecedented warmongering; the meddling, deployment of forces, and all out assistance to the Syrian dictator Bashar Assad for the slaughter of its people; the export of terrorism and fundamentalism to the region; and the increase in regime’s military budget, all come at the expense of further impoverishment of the Iranian people.
