INTV, 3 Oct 2013 – Michael Cashman, British Socialist European Parliament representative from the Labor Party, sent a message of solidarity to Camp Liberty residents and Iranian Resistance supporters across the globe.
“Hello, I want to express to you as a member of the European Parliament my complete moral outrage at the massacre that occurred on the 1st of September in Camp Ashraf. For years people had been warning that such an attack could take place at sadly for years we ignored their advice. The reality is horrific, the deaths of ordinary men and women, young, old, some of them infirm, some of them destroyed in the hospital unit. But what we can do is make sure that such an atrocity never happens again.
“The seven hostages that are currently still being held that the authorities, the Iraqi authorities be clear about, will still not admit that they hold, they must be returned to their families and their friends in Camp Liberty If liberty is to mean anything.
“And therefore, all of you, families, friends and supporters who are making this amazing sacrifice of going on hunger strike, my thoughts and the thoughts of other parliamentarians are with you. Our solidarity is with you, and I give you this promise because it is the promise that history has shown us, that in the end you will win, that justice and decency and fairness will be yours to taste, to hold and to embrace amongst your families and your community. Thank you .”
