Maliki murdered dozens, injured hundreds in Ashraf without any justification: Iraqi VP

In an article published in Asharq al-Awsat daily, Iraqi Vice President Dr. Tareq al-Hashemi exposed portions of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Maliki’s crimes in Iraq.
“In late January 2007 and during the Islamic religious month of ‘Moharam’, Nouri Maliki murdered over 300 elderly men, women and children in the al-Zarka region north of the city of Najaf, injuring hundreds more. These were not only the people of his own country, but also from his own religious background. He killed them merely for a difference of opinion in ‘marjaia’ (source of emulation),” the article reads.
“In similar measures, he murdered dozens in Camp Ashraf without any justification, while injuring hundreds more of these refugees who live legally in Iraq based on the Fourth Geneva Convention,” al-Hashemi added.
“These measures and operations by Maliki spread throughout other provinces, including Basra, and thousands were killed, injured and casted away despite news censorship that took place coinciding with these operations. Later on it was revealed the objective of these measures were nothing but complete obedience by all to Maliki’s orders,” the Iraqi VP continued.
