Iran: minister admits regime’s inability to contain currency crisis

Iran’s minister of industries and commerce clearly admitted to the regime’s inability to contain the currency crisis, saying currency rates are out of control.
“Currently, currency rates are practically two or three fold the prices in the markets. This is while we were concerned of this increase and used to say currency rates are the pillars to control inflation. These rates are now out of our control and have increased many times, with its impact on the economy being evident in goods and services in many ways,” Ghazanfari said in an attempt to justify unprecedented and increasing high prices for people’s daily goods.
“The result of these prices that are many times higher is that the dairy industry tells us the pocket that I am selling milk in is more expensive than the milk. The yogurt bucket that I am giving the people ends up more expensive for me than the yogurt itself. How do you expect me to control the prices?” the regime’s minister continued.
