The Italian “For All” organization issued a statement calling for an end to the inhumane measures imposed by Maliki’s government against Ashraf residents.
“We have been informed that the Iranian regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security and the terrorist Quds Force affiliated to the IRGC has installed tall communication towers near Ashraf’s southern flank for spying purposes,” the statement read. “This measure has been carried out with the comprehensive support of the Iraqi forces. The installation of these towers follow the day and night psychological torture of Ashraf residents through 300 loudspeakers.
“Through such methods the Iranian regime is on the verge of expanding its repressive and spying measures against Ashraf residents. They are also attempting to prevent the public opinion from being informed of its inhumane measures and those of the Iraqi elements.
“We call on the UN and UNHCR to protest these illegal and suppressive measures by the Iraqi government, and we demand urgent action in this regard.”
