The Supporters of Change Association in Iraq issued a statement welcoming the US State Department decision to remove the name of the opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran from the US terrorist list, the Iraqi NINA news agency reported.
“Camp Ashraf residents’ agreement to transfer to Camp Liberty, a former US forces base in Iraq, is a good initiative showing the residents’ good faith. It is among the UN’s obligations to recognize Liberty as a refugee camp to guarantee the rights of the camp residents,” the statement reads.
