Iraqi MP Mazhar al-Janabi calls for release of seven Ashrafi hostages

INTV, 7 Oct 2013 – Iraqi MP Mazhar al-Janabi from the Iraqiya Coalition called for the release of the seven Ashrafi hostages.
“The measure taken by Maliki’s government is a terrorist act and a violation of human rights laws, and abducting and or arresting these individuals has no legal justification,” he said.
This Iraqi MP issued a statement to international human rights organizations to play their role in “imposing pressure on the Iraqi government for the release of the seven arrested hostages and guaranteeing their safety”. He went on to accuse the Iraqi government of taking them hostage.
Al-Janabi also called on Iraqis and entities of this country and across the globe to “continue their demands for the release of the hostages’ release and not surrender in their efforts or become tired”. He emphasized on the need to accelerate the “release of these individuals taken hostage so they can live like other refugees that enjoy international protection and humane behavior based on international laws and customs.”
Al-Janabi added the abduction and arrest of these individuals has no justification.
