Iran regime parliament speaker canceled speech in protest to Rajavi’s visit to Council of Europe

The speaker of the Iranian regime’s parliament cancelled a scheduled visit to the Council of Europe in protest at a recent invitation to Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), the state-run news agency IRNA reported Thursday.

IRNA said Gholam-Ali Haddad Adel cancelled the planned speech in Strasbourg after Maryam Rajavi met with European lawmakers on Monday.

On Monday Mrs. Rajavi was invited by the European People’s Party (Christian Democrats) Parliamentary Group to speak at the Council of Europe.

Political observers evaluated the cancellation of Haddad Adel’s visit to Strasburg and his speech at the Council of Europe as an apparent sign of the worldwide isolation of the mullahs’ dictatorship, an indication of the political defeat of the regime before the just stances of the Iranian Resistance, and a sign of mullahs’ fear of Maryam Rajavi’s call for a democratic change in Iran.
