In Australia, a demonstration was held last weekend to condemn the human rights abuse in Iran. Iranians residing in Sydney joined victims of Iran mullahs’ brutality and human rights violation voicing their condemnation.
The demonstrators pointed out that the human rights situation in Iran had dramatically deteriorated since Hassan Rouhani took office as President two years ago.
The rally in central Sydney on Saturday by the supporters of the main Iranian opposition group People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, PMOI (Mujahedin-e Khalq, MEK), also condemned the increasing rate of executions in Iran.
A statement by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein on August 5 said: “Iran has reportedly executed more than 600 individuals so far this year. Last year, at least 753 people were executed in the country.”
