
French TV, Channel 5, June 29, 2008 – Iranian opposition held a meeting in Paris in which tens of thousands were present. The one who represents the Iranian Resistance hope had gathered her supporters in a hall that had an excited atmosphere and the facilities employed were at the level of grand meetings.
Addressing to the participants, Maryam Rajavi, President of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), said: The Iranian people will never forget your support in mobilization against the terrorist labeling.
This gathering has the preliminary taste of victory. At the beginning of the week, Britain removed the PMOI from its black list of terrorist organizations; the parliamentarians who originated such decision are highly appreciated.
Lord Russell Johnston, the former Chair of EU Parliamentary Council, said: I have come here for support of a democratic and free Iran, it is six years that I have been following this target. He said the PMOI expects a positive measure from France and EU.
Alejo Vidal-Quadras, Vice President of the European Parliament, asserted: If the European Union acts based on the rule of law, it is not possible to categorize an organization that is not as terrorist organization; this contradicts with the rule of law.
Yves Bonnet, former Chief of the French Counter-terrorism Organization (DST( declared: They have never done a smallest terrorist act, therefore, terrorist designation on them is quit inconsistent.
