French MPs, Senators and mayors protest prison-making measures in Liberty

36 Members of the National Assembly and Senate, along with 62 mayors protest prison-making measures in Liberty
Armed forces must exit camp
Days after the transfer of nearly 400 Ashraf residents to Liberty, all signs indicate this camp is a high-security prison, and a plan to annihilate the democratic and legitimate opposition to the dictatorship ruling Iran was pursued in this transfer.
We call on the UN Secretary General, US Secretary of State and the European Union High Representative’s Special Representative to:
First – Strongly condemn the Iraqi government’s shameful measures.
Second – Call on the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative to Iraq to practice impartiality, defend Iranian refugees’ rights without political consideration and not remain silent in the face of Iraqi government’s repressive conduct.
Third – Provide the residents minimum assurances and especially convince the Iraqi government to exit all armed forces from inside the camp’s walls.
