Iraq’s Umma Party Secretary General Mithal al-Alousi described the attack on Ashraf as an action carried out by the Iranian regime, demanding thorough investigation into this crime.
“What is taking place in Camp Ashraf and the defenseless residents are facing, are measures carried out by the Iranian regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and paramilitary forces under its disguise,” al-Alousi stressed.
“I call for a thorough investigation regarding the events that Ashraf residents faced on 8 April 2011. This investigation must be revealed to make the Iranian regime’s role in these crimes against Ashraf residents obvious for everyone because the Iranian regime has direct influence into Iraq’s executive branch. The events occurred so far are considered a massacre from an international viewpoint and the Iranian regime must be held accountable for what took place in Camp Ashraf.”
