Association of Independent Iraqi Jurists asked Iraqi government to recognize Ashraf residents’ legal rights

Monday, February 02, 2009

In its statement Association Independent Iraqi Jurists, which represents 12,000 lawyers and jurists, called removal of the PMOI from the EU terrorist list a great victory of the Iranian people and Iranian nationalistic and freedom-loving Iranian forces and all freedom-lovers across the world.

The statement underscores:” Now that terrorist label against Ashraf residents, who are the PMOI members, is removed by 27 European countries, they are considered political refugees and protected persons under the fourth Geneva convention and enjoy legal rights; thus Iran’s rulers have no more excuse to exert pressure on the Iraqi government for expulsion of the PMOI from Iraq. Therefore we ask the Iraqi officials to recognize these rights.”
