
Baghdad daily, affiliated to the Iraqi National Front, cited Iraqi MPs and politicians saying, “Relocation of Ashraf residents is not in anyone’s interest.”
This paper published an article on November 1st writing: Iraqi political figures and MPs denounce the expulsion of Camp Ashraf residents at the end of the current year. They said they do not want their country to become a bad example regarding human rights, holding Prime Minister Nouri Maliki for the responsibility of tarnishing their country’s image. This is while the Iraqi Parliament emphasized the deadline set by the government to end the issue of the PMOI before the end of the year needs to be revised.
“A peaceful, comprehensive solution for Ashraf residents is a rooted solution and we cannot rely on a partial or unacceptable solution,” said Iraqi Prime Minister advisor Adel Barwari.
“The best solution for Ashraf residents is to utilize an all-out plan that will not be in contrast with human rights principles and standards,” he added.
